Obituary

Finlay Irene Ramsey was born an angel on March 8, 2011, in Tallahassee, FL. Though she never got the chance to know them, she left her tiny footprints on the hearts of the large and loving family who anxiously anticipated her arrival. She will be forever missed.

Finlay was the daughter of Amanda Ramsey and Jeffrey Lyncker, both of Tallahassee. Her loss is also mourned by her grandparents, Steve and Linda Ramsey and Janice Lyncker; her great-grandparents, Ben Grady and Betty Smith, of Panama City, FL, and Kermit Ranson of Tallahassee, FL; her aunts, Melissa Coogle (and husband Tom), Katie Hatcher, and Carrie Shortt; her uncle, Michael Lyncker; and her cousins, Haylee Coogle, Brayden Coogle, Nathan Coogle, Brittany Lyncker, and Cameron Lyncker. She also is survived by a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 6pm at the Lifeway Community Church in Tallahassee. Pastor Eli Hendricks will officiate. Family will receive friends following the service at the home of Steve and Linda Ramsey.

While recovering from her loss, Finlay’s mother was given a copy of the book Heaven is For Real by Todd Burpo, which brought her tremendous comfort. She would like to make this resource available to other families who are faced with the loss of an infant. A memorial fund has been established, and copies of the book will be purchased and donated in Finlay’s memory to area hospitals, and will be made available to other families in crisis. In lieu of flowers, donations to support this memorial project would be appreciated. Gifts can be made through PayPal by clicking the button below.
